Dear Mr. Grimek:
I read the article about Jim Easley and that strength feat of his will be around for a long time. I know what strength it takes to do it.
On November 17th, 1939, at the YMCA in Milwaukee, in front of half a dozen witnesses, I picked up two 45-pound York barbell plates by the hubs and curled them to the shoulders then pressed them to arm's length overhead.
I was featured in Bob Ripley's "Believe It Or Not" cartoon. I weighed 185 pounds at the time.
George Pavlik,
Milwaukee, Wisc.
